PURE-ANALYSIS

Below is an email from Emma following her experience of Pure analysis

I would like to thank you for being so kind, thoughtful, supportive and understanding. From the day I walked into your office I felt so comfortable and safe talking to you, like I had known you for years.

I remember the first session that I had with you, I was anxious and wondered if you were going to be able to help me.

After many years I had finally realised and accepted that there were some areas in my life that I needed to change.I really enjoyed the sessions, although at times they were personally challenging I felt enlightened by the release of very deep-rooted feelings, some of which I didn't know I had! The results are definitely worth a few tears!

When I first came to see you I never imagined learning so much about myself and how past experiences had shaped my life and caused the issues that have been holding me back for years. My views and feelings are now much clearer and I look forward to a happy future.

I would recommend Pure Analysis and of course you to anyone who needs a little help getting their life back on track.

Thank you Philip for everything.

Pure-Analysis is NOT counseling or what might be thought of as conventional psychotherapy or anything like it. It is a unique brief therapy and only practiced by around 150 therapists in the UK.

In Philip's opinion this is the most effective brief therapy available. In as little as six to twelve sessions, quite complex problems can be resolved, even if someone has suffered with their problem for years. The process is entirely natural, in fact it is a process our mind uses without us even knowing it. Philip just use this process which speeds up recovery.

A NATURAL PROCESS - HOW IT WORKS

To help explain this, if you think of the death of a loved one, this is generally considered to be one of the most difficult things to get over. Initially we will tend think of the person each day, even if it is just a few moments. And each time we think of them it will be painful. Yet month by month, as we think and remember them, the thoughts become less painful. Until we get to the point of eventually being able to smile and laugh about some of the good times. This is the natural healing process the mind uses to get over traumatic events.

Isn't it odd then, that people can suffer debilitating problems such as fears, phobias, panic attacks, eating disorders, obsessions, compulsions, sexual problems and the like (the list goes on) and they never seem to be able to get over this, no matter how much they think of it or talk to people about it. In fact, it may even make it worse.

People give up smoking and put weight on, they control their weight gain and then either go back to smoking, or start to drink more, bite their nails or perhaps begin suffering with something like bulimia!

WHY DON'T PEOPLE GET BETTER?

Philip believes the reason people get stuck like this, is that we ALL suffer with unconscious anxiety (bottled up emotions). Something within us, but totally out of our control or conscious awareness. Anxiety that forms when we are quite young.

Generally, we all think we know where our problems stem from. For instance, someone frightened of dogs may link it
to having been chased or bitten by a dog at some point in their lives and of course they MIGHT be right in some circumstances, in which case a session of hypnotherapy,
NLP or cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) may be the
best way forward.

In Philip's experience however, this is generally NOT the case. If it was, our fear of the dog in the example would get better as time goes by and yet if anything it stays the same or gets worse, unlike when we are resolving the trauma of loosing a loved one. Often a fear, phobia, obsession, eating disorder, sexual problem for instance can be greatly helped by therapies such as CBT or NLP but because the unconscious cause of the problem has not been resolved, either the problem returns
to some extent, or is displaced into another symptom.
So someone who fears enclosed spaces and is apparently cured of this fear can then find they are now feeling odd
about open spaces as an example. In other words they are not fully cured.

The natural healing process can only work if the person suffering with their problem is focused on the unconscious cause rather than their symptom. The symptom is a smoke screen an unconscious representation of an internal unconscious anxiety.

SO, HOW IS IT DONE?

You may be wondering what this unconscious anxiety might be. The truth is at the moment you won't know. You will need help to find the real cause of your problem and then resolve this.

Philip finds there are generally two ways people go through therapy. As human beings, particularly in western culture, we tend to bottle up our emotions and frustrations. As we do this, whatever problems we have, tend to intensify. Additionally, if we lead a very stressful life, these problems then magnify even more.

Most people find as therapy progresses, they will begin releasing some of these emotions. As a consequence, the intensity of someone's symptoms may well begin to reduce. Although this is good and useful, it is not however what Philip's goal is. His aim is a complete cure from your symptoms, not just a reduction, and without any symptom substitution. To do this, he must help you to confront and release all the bottled up emotions connected to your unconscious anxiety.

WHAT ARE THE CHANCES OF SUCCESS?

Somewhere in the region of six out of ten people will resolve their main unconscious anxiety utilising 'Pure- Analysis'.

What of the other four people? Well actually the outcome is good too! Philip would still expect the intensity of their symptoms to be reduced by simply releasing some of the pent up emotions swilling around inside them.

The only clients who probably do not gain anything from the process, would be those who do not complete therapy for one reason or another.
