General Information about Pain Management
Pain is of course usually there for a reason, it helps to stop us from doing things that may agrivate a condition we are suffering with. Because of this it isn't always a good idea to eliminate all pain or we could end up doing more damage and make things much worse than it would have been.
Something you have to do before booking an appointment
Before Philip can help you with this issue, it will be necessary for you to obtain a letter from your Doctor giving him permission to reduce the level of pain or discomfort you have. Once he has received this, treatment can go ahead.
How you can expect to respond
People's response to treatment does vary widely. Anyone can be helped, if you can think you can do it. In Philip's opinion an ability to relax and having a good imagination will help enormously.
How Philip approaches the session
The intention of the intervention is for Philip to teach you a simple pain management technique, normally in one session. He will provide you with a CD of your session to play at home to help remind you of what to do until you become proficient at the technique and can do it unaided.
